Youth Summer Vocal Workshop
Tuesday 17th January 2017, Beechworth VIC.
Directors of Opera in the Alps and Opera Scholars Australia, Graeme and Margot Wall, are excited to announce an opportunity for 60 young singers in a Youth Summer Vocal Workshop, who will perform at Opera in the Alps 2017.
The singers will primarily be drawn from existing primary and secondary school choirs but also the local community. As a recipient of the Commonwealth Bank Community Grants program, OSA will be working to ‘improve the health and wellbeing of young Australians’ from the North East through singing, acting, performing and mentoring opportunities.
OSA will support and inspire young singers to explore the world of singing, working alongside passionate rising opera stars, world class accompanists and international opera soloists, a full symphony orchecstra, 100 piece choir, professional conductor, stage director, choreographer and being part of the biggest outdoor opera concert in Victoria!
Participating singers will receive music in advance and a visit from the OSA music team before the end of the year. At the workshop, expert tuition will consolidate singing skills and simple choreography will be taught. All catering will be provided. Students just need to get themselves to Beechworth to have a musical experience they will never forget.
