2023 Inaugural art song competition

We held the final of our Inaugural 2023 Art Song Competition in the majestic Chandelier Room at the Hawthorn Arts Centre. This year, we focussed on German and English repertoire.

We had four excellent finalists - adjudicated by Sharolynn Kimmorley. Soprano Jesse Linke won the ultimate $2000 prize with Joshua Morton-Galea as runner up (receiving a German Language course generously donated by the Goethe Institute). Finalists Lucy Schneider and Mei Wah Chan also put together wonderful programs.

Building video recording into our program is extremely important, as the Scholars are continually having to put forward recent videos for auditions and scholarships. Check out their performances below and keep your eyes peeled for our 2024 French Art Song Competition!
