VOICES UNLEASHED - YOUTH OUTREACH

What is opera? Who sings it? Where is it performed? Who is it for? What kinds of stories can we tell with vocal music? We hope to answer these questions and more as we conduct our youth outreach program ‘Voices Unleashed’ in 2024!

‘Voices Unleashed’ is an operatic introduction - beginning with school based incursions and broadening to a fully staged piece of immersive theatre. The project has been designed by our Program Director Alexander Lewis to broaden the base of young people who are drawn to opera as future practitioners and audiences. We want young people from all backgrounds to understand the operatic art form and champion its bright future. In order to be it, you have to see it! Our Scholars are particularly excited at the thought of practising their performance skills while attracting new audiences to their beloved art form.
