zoya mclean - primo

MEZZO-SOPRANO

Mezzo soprano Zoya McLean holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. During her time at the Conservatorium she was the grateful recipient of the Ellinor Gertrude Harris Bequest (2021). She is continuing her vocal studies under the tutelage of Suzanne Johnston.

Zoya has been a part of several productions for Victorian Opera including as Diana in Orpheus in the Underworld, ensemble member and cover of Child 1 in The Selfish Giant and a chorus member in Il Mago Di Oz and The Grumpiest Boy in the World. She was also a member of the Victorian Opera Youth Chorus Ensemble. As well as studying music, Zoya also likes learning languages - she is fluent in Russian and has also studied Italian.

Zoya is excited to be a member of Opera Scholars Australia in 2024!
