SOPRANO
Charlotte is an entrepreneurial soprano currently living in Melbourne. Having grown up in a rural country town in Victoria, three hours away from Melbourne, Charlotte studied music in year 12 by distance education. Her performances were nominated for HSC encore in Sydney, in 2019.
She grew up performing in music theatre productions in rural Victoria and playing piano, but decided to pursue her love for singing and commenced her Bachelors degree of Music, Classical Voice in 2020 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Having finished her bachelors degree, she is currently studying under the tutelage of Australian Soprano Antoinette Halloran, and is undertaking her honours year in performance, classical voice.
Charlotte has performed as a part of the chorus in Melbourne Opera’s ‘The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny’ alongside many incredible Australian artists, as well as performing as a feature chorus member for the Melbourne Conservatorium of music’s The Magic Flute as well as A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Charlotte also has gained experience in choirs, having performed on a scholarship in the Newman College Choir for two years, as well as performing as a part of vocal ensembles at University.
Most recently Charlotte created Opera in the Country, a project dedicated to performing opera in rural towns, where she has grown up. So far there have been four performances in four different towns, where Charlotte has sung as a soloist for all. Charlotte has a passion for classical singing and is looking for more exposure to the Opera world as well as the chance to strengthen and learn new skills. She is honoured to be a part of the 2024 Opera Scholars Australia program.
