SUPPLEMENTARY
Hattie Johnston is a mezzo-soprano from Auckland, New Zealand. Hattie completed her Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2025. During her undergraduate studies, Hattie participated in a masterclass with Helena Dix and performed regularly with the Conservatorium’s Vocal Ensemble and Chamber Choir, and led her own octet. In 2025, Hattie was the Premier Minister and a chorus member in Massenet’s Cendrillon, directed by Johanna Allen, conducted by Paul Fitzsimon.
Hattie was awarded the Ellinor Gertrude Harris Bequest from the University of Melbourne in 2023 and the Members Choice Award for Best Musical Theatre Performance at the Janet Perkins Vocal Scholarship in 2025.
Hattie was a member of the Choir of Trinity College and toured Europe in 2023, performing Mass at Saint Peter’s Basilica, Westminster Cathedral and Evensong in Ely Cathedral. In 2023, the choir premiered Mary Finsterer’s Stabat Mater at St Patrick’s Cathedral and won Performance of the Year - Notated Composition at the 2024 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards.
In 2026, Hattie is completing her Honours Degree under the tutelage of Suzanne Johnston and will be making the most of every opportunity that OSA brings.
