LUCY HOOD
SUPPLEMENTARY
MEZZO-SOPRANO
A talented instrumentalist, mezzo soprano Lucy Hood, commenced her music degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music majoring in clarinet. After 6 months, however, her passion for opera and classical voice was too strong to ignore and she transferred to become a classical voice major.
In 2022, upon completing her 1st year recital, for which she received First Class Honours, she was awarded the Muriel Cheek Memorial Scholarship for excellence in performance. Also that year, Lucy was a member of the chorus in the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. Since then, she has been involved with various chamber choirs at Melbourne Conservatorium, both as ensemble member and soloist.
Completing her undergraduate degree in 2024, Lucy again received First Class Honours for her final recital, and she is now looking forward to completing her Honours Degree in 2025.
