BARITONE
Nicholas Sheppard is a 24 year old Baritone from Melbourne. Nicholas is a graduate of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with a Masters in Opera First Class Honours), and a Bachelor of Music, where he studied under the tutelage of Patricia Price.
Past performances include Victorian Opera’s The Selfish Giant (The Giant, Wind), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Demetrius), Little Women (John Brooke), Old Maid and The Thief (Bob), L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Arnalta, Nutrice), The Fairy Queen (Coridon, Hymen, Winter), Gianni Schicchi (Il Notaio), Lyster Opera's Martha (Sheriff).
Nicholas has also participated in masterclasses with Stuart Maunder, Graham Johnson, Andrew Sinclair, Richard Mills and Linnhe Robertson. Currently Nicholas is a scholar with Opera Scholars Australia, where he has appeared in the “Love is in the Aria” and “Opera in the Hangar” concerts with Guy Noble, Greta Bradman and Alexander Lewis. Recently, Nicholas won first prize in the Lieder and Aria sections of the Eisteddfod by the Bay, and is a recipient of the Kath Easton Perpetual Award for Aria.
Later this year, Nicholas will be travelling to Germany to perform the role of Count Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, and to study the role of Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Berlin Opera Academy.
