SOPRANO

Phoebe Tait is a graduate of Classical voice from the University of Western Australia (UWA) and has begun her Master of Music (Opera Performance) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Phoebe was the recipient of the Clough and Wolff music scholarship for residency at St George’s College, and she was a 2024 scholar at Wesley Uniting Church.
Phoebe is a highly experienced Chorister and Musical Director, having sung with professional groups such as the St George’s Cathedral Consort, The Giovanni Consort and Western Australian Opera. She has been tutored by members of VOCES8, The Song Company and I Fagiolini.
As a soloist, Phoebe has performed the young soprano solos in Rebecca Dale’s Materna Requiem (West Australian Premiere), Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Dixit Domunis, Buxteheude’s Membra Jesu Nostri and she featured at St George’s College’s Christmas in the Quad. At UWA, she was a soloist with the UWA Orchestra in Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy and Monteverdi Vespers. She has recently sung the title role in “Helena”, an Operetta written by award-winning composer and UWA (Hons) Graduate, Rose Russell, who wrote Helena specifically for Phoebe.
At the Melbourne Conservatorium, she was cast as Drusilla and La Fortuna (L’incoronazione Di Poppea) and Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), and she will debut with Victorian Opera in Lyrebird.
