SUPPLEMENTARY
SOPRANO
Ruby Streit is an 18-year-old soprano with a rich background in classical voice and music leadership. With over a decade of vocal training, she is a dedicated performer with multiple awards, including three Performer of the Year Awards, Musical Excellence Colours, and scholarships for vocal excellence at Westbourne Grammar School.
In 2023, she joined the Victorian Opera Youth Chorus Ensemble. As a part of the ensemble, she has studied roles including ‘First Witch’ and the cover of ‘Belinda’ in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, as well as ‘Vitellia’ in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito. She made her professional debut as Livia Galilei in Richard Mills’ GALILEO, earning acclaim as a “rising star to watch.” Ruby was a Youth Ambassador for VO, gaining valuable face-to-face education and interaction with industry professionals.
In 2024, Ruby participated in the Acclaim Awards Masterclass with Michelle Francis Cook, also earning an Italian Academic Scholarship to further her vocal and language skills. She also won a Worldwide Generations Award from her Sicilian hometown, recognising her contributions to the Arts over the years.
This year, she is commencing her Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Looking ahead, Ruby aims to pursue a Master’s degree in Opera Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, with aspirations to grow her operatic career on an international stage while inspiring others through her performances.
